Borgo`s Garage – About us & what makes us different 

Borgo`s Garage was originally based in the Ruhrvalley in Germany and was run by a scooter addicted salesman, restoring and repairing scooters.  These consisted mainly of Vespas and Lambrettas for neighbours and friends. After moving to the north of the country and having more space for a larger workshop, more people came and wanted their scooters to be serviced, rebuilt or tuned.  The reason Borgo's Garage has excelled is because the majority of scooter shops in Germany deal predominately in twist and goes, Borgo's Garage deals exclusively in classic geared scooters.  

Niko and Borgo founded the business based near Hamburg, an ideal location with easy access from the autobahn from North & South. We are specialist in working out complete projects, be it a rebuild, custom scooter or some thing completely different for your Lambretta or Vespa we can do it.  How does it work ?, the normal way is that you either deliver your scooter or arrange collection by us.  You then discuss what idea or plans you have in mind, we give our estimate of costings and discuss your budget and what is achievable within this range.  As the work progresses you will receive updates from us, written and photographic.  We believe this is by far the best way to ensure customer satisfaction, progress and budget overview.  

Some brief points: When a respray is required, the scooter is stripped, gets sand blasted, checked and any areas that require attention are welded.  The wiring looms are all renewed, this is a specialty of ours and we take great pride in this.  We can make some very subtle changes to your scooter such as, a fuel warning light hidden in your speedo, sockets for chargers located in your glove or tool box.  H4 headlamps for Sprints and Rallys, smoothened engine casings, this stops road debris sticking.  Fancy something different, we can do powder coating, zinc-plating, chroming, dyno-jetting (this is carried out on all our scooters) and loads more and our rebuilds use only stainless steel fasteners. 

We do not build Racing scooters, we pride ourselves in building & restoring classics, we build quality.
